Mary Glen Joy Fouts
Fouts, Mary Glen Joy Born September 30, 1944 - Died
January 24, 2009. Mary Glen, beloved wife, sister, mother,
grandmother and caring friend to everyone she met, passed away
peacefully after a battle with cancer on January 24, 2009. Her
beauty and love for life, from early childhood (with her blonde
"Heidi" pigtails and big blue eyes) until her last day, will be
remembered by all who knew her. She had an irrepressible spirit
and joy that she imparted to all. She grew up in Highland Park,
the daughter of the late Jimmy Joy, renowned clarinet player and
orchestra leader, and the late Sally Joy. She attended Highland
Park High School where she was varsity cheerleader, involved in
plays and musicals, and voted class favorite. She later became
President of the HPHS Alumni Association and was very active
with alumni activities. She was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta
sorority at Southern Methodist University, chosen as a campus
beauty and was first runner up in the Miss Dallas Contest in
1964. Her infectious enthusiasm and spirit led to her being on
the very first Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader team. Mary Glen had an
incomparable love of music and dancing. In the late 70's she
starred in numerous Dallas Junior League Follies, and later
danced with Class Act, a seniors tap dance group. She had a
great zest and curiosity for life, history and travel. She and
her husband, Lou, enjoyed many trips and cruises together. They
also loved dancing with the Spring Dance Club every year. While
raising her children, she taught Sunday school and spent
countless hours volunteering for numerous causes. Later, she was
a loyal employee, recently celebrating her 20-year anniversary
with Global 360. Mary Glen will be greatly missed by her
husband, Louis M. Fouts III; sister Avionne Ribelin; her three
children - Greg Aldridge, Ashley Aldridge Meece (and husband
Mike), and Turner Aldridge (and fiance Patty Difonzo);
granddaughters Lyla Joy Meece and McKinley Aldridge Meece;
stepdaughter Molly Holm and her husband Trey and their sons
John, Paul and Luke; her nieces, Sally Warren and Teresa Cook,
and nephew Roy Ribelin. A memorial service will be held at St.
Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church, Dallas, Texas on
January 27, 2009 at 4:00 p.m.
