VANDERWOUDE:  Dan Jay Daniel Vanderwoude, Jr. (Dan) 76, passed away on June 11, 2021 following a lengthy illness. Dan attended Highland Park High School and graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University. He started Dan Vanderwoude Construction Co. in 1974 and was always proud of having built the first Chili's restaurant as well as helping with the design of the Chili's logo. Dan enjoyed water skiing, fishing, handball, and riding his Harley Davidson. He is survived by his children Jay Daniel Vanderwoude III and husband Brian Baltazar; daughter Jayme Mungioli and husband Armando; and grandchildren Christian and Luke Mungioli. He is also survived by a sister Carol Botefuhr; a brother Fred Vanderwoude and wife Donna and several nieces and nephews. A Memorial will be held on Saturday, July 17th.
